Bored and restless and running out of toys to play with, a goofy loser in a Hooters T-shirt attempts to inject a little excitement into his pathetic evening by making an obscene phone call. Utterly inept at sexiness or threat, the two integral elements to such an endeavor, he meets his match in a quick-witted foul-mouthed girl with enough time on her own hands to engage him in conversation.
She promptly begins berating him for his utter phone call failure, his sense of style, and his lack of intelligence. When he claims he can lift 280 she snaps back "ounces?" When he proposes torturing her with a Weed Whacker she merely scoffs. But notice the electricity in the air? At some point during their banter, the animosity turns to curiosity, and a happy ending looms on the horizon.
A fairly funny film, particularly in the writing and the acting, which are pretty smooth. I would usually take some offense at the idea of a woman not only engaging a pervert in conversation, but actually falling for him, but the film does a good job of illustrating just how harmless he is, and his lovable loser shtick is actually endearing.
